For some people, inspiration comes from books, while others find it in the words of their favorite celebrities. For Aimee Garcia, Dolly Parton was apparently both. The actress recently got emotional while reflecting on the country music legend’s influence on her life, revealing just how deeply Parton’s words resonated with her.
And as it turns out, Garcia had a little secret of her own: a personal quote book that became something of a guiding light.
Aimee Garcia cannot let go of Dolly Parton
Appearing recently on Inside of You with Michael Rosenbaum, Aimee Garcia was discussing how she has not been sleeping like a baby, as she usually does, thinking about losing her loved ones. A major part of this disturbed sleep was also Dolly Parton's demise.
Shedding light on her fandom, she shared that since childhood, she has done nothing but adore Parton, her works, and her music. And while she was always surrounded by the Dolly Candles as a child, the light has not dimmed, as Parton's book of quotes is still there, acting as her Bible.
"It's like her little book of good quotes. It was like my little Bible that I would just carry around," Garcia said.

Contunuing further, she explained how the day of Parton's demise, she called her dad talking about how she got emotional learning about it, just like her father did as well.
" I call my dad. I go, "Dad, Dolly Parton died." And he goes, "I cried a little bit." And I'm like, "Dad, did I," she said on Inside of You with Michael Rosenbaum.
And Garcia’s emotional reaction is hardly surprising. Parton had a way of making people feel seen, whether through a song, a witty one-liner, or a piece of advice that stayed with them for years. For Garcia, those words became a personal guide. For millions of others, Parton’s influence went far beyond the music.
Dolly Parton was more than a Country Music icon
Parton’s legacy stretched well beyond her chart-topping hits, including 'Jolene' and 'I Will Always Love You.' Over a career spanning more than six decades, she became a beloved singer, songwriter, actor, and philanthropist whose humor and generosity were just as memorable as her music. Her Imagination Library, which gifts books to young children, reflected her lifelong commitment to literacy and education.

But perhaps Parton’s greatest gift was her ability to make wisdom feel accessible, often wrapped in humor and delivered with her unmistakable charm. Her words offered encouragement without ever taking themselves too seriously. That blend of warmth, wit, and honesty helps explain why Garcia—and countless fans—held her so close to their hearts.
