Then came May 7 and Operation Sindoor, an 88-hour military operation that unfolded across a tense border.
Much of it reached the public through breaking news, fragments of footage, and official briefings. With a year having passed, has the harrowing incident been documented for the ages to come?
The Operation Sindoor documentary and where you can watch it
Yes. Discovery released Declassified: Operation Sindoor, a two-part documentary series that premiered on Discovery and Discovery+ on August 15, 2026. It traces the planning and execution of the 88-hour operation through first-hand accounts from military leadership, operational personnel, defence experts, and journalists. In India, the series is streaming on Discovery+. For viewers in the United States, current listings do not show a verified US streaming home for Declassified: Operation Sindoor.
American viewers can therefore check Discovery’s US offerings and major streaming guides for regional availability. A separate 27-minute film, Operation Sindoor: A Nation’s Resolve, was published by India’s Ministry of Defence on YouTube on May 7, 2026.

The series features National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi, Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh K. Tripathi, Air Chief Marshal A. P. Singh, and former Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan. The Indian Express reported that the filmmakers wanted to capture the human experience of those involved rather than make an investigative film.
The story of modern warfare stretches beyond one operation, and another documentary series turns to a conflict that changed the world.
