The 2025 Michael Jackson documentary that fans can stream now

There is a recent documentary about the King of Pop titled Leaving Neverland 2: Surviving Michael Jackson, released in 2025. The film revisits the sexual abuse allegations against Michael Jackson and follows the ongoing legal battles of Wade Robson and James Safechuck. After premiering on the UK’s Channel 4 on March 18, 2025, the 53-minute documentary later became available for viewers in the United States on YouTube.

Little Dot Studios, which acquired the rights to the documentary for US distribution, released it on YouTube to ensure it reaches the widest possible audience. And as the title suggests, the film is a sequel to the 2019 documentary Leaving Neverland and is directed once again by Dan Reed. The original documentary even went on to win an Emmy Award for Outstanding Documentary or Nonfiction Special.

Due to extensive reshoots, the project was ultimately delayed to 2026. However, the anticipation surrounding the film has hardly faded. Jackson’s real-life nephew, Jaafar Jackson, will portray the King of Pop on screen. And if the trailer’s impressive 116 million views garnered within 24 hours of its release are any indication, the film could become one of the biggest releases of the year.
