The truth about Band on the Run documentary

There is no Band on the Run documentary available. The real name of the documentary is actually Man on the Run. The confusion seems logical as the documentary is based on how Paul McCartney’s fifth solo album, 'Band on the Run', came into being after the breakup of the legendary band, The Beatles. The documentary shows how an artist survives even the greatest adversities just to do what he is good at.

The documentary film first debuted in August 2025 at the Telluride Film Festival, where it got some favorable reviews from the critics. However, the film directed by Academy Award winner Morgan Neville premiered on February 27, 2026, for the international audience on Amazon Prime Video.

Beginning on February 27, Prime Video members will be able to view McCartney's documentary for free, and new users may join up for a 30 day free trial to temporarily access the vast library of films and TV series available on the service. Great news for fans who are also waiting for the new Beatles biopic to release.
