Spider-Man: No Way Home’s success had increased anticipation for Spider-Man: Brand New Day through the roof, and initially every casting rumor had fans buzzing. As Marvel Studios continues to push on with its multiverse storytelling and Sony's Spider-Verse movies have made Miles Morales one of the franchise's most beloved characters, speculation has increased as to whether voice actor Shameik Moore made the jump to live action and appeared in the latest film.

However, since Marvel and Sony have been silent, fans were left to look for clues as to whether he was involved. 

Shameik Moore does not appear in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Fans were hoping for a live-action debut of Miles Morales, but that did not happen. Nevertheless, Tom Holland and Marvel Studios have reportedly commented that Miles Morales is expected to join the MCU in the future, though no casting or timeline has been officially confirmed. 

Moore is best known for voicing Miles Morales in Sony’s critically acclaimed animated Spider-Verse films. He will soon reprise the role in Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse, which recently launched its first-look. However, Moore would love nothing more than to join the MCU in a live-action movie.

He even told Entertainment Tonight in April 2023 during the CinemaCon in Las Vegas  that he would love to play the character, and would throw himself into the role if given the chance. The actor said his past work is proof of the passion and dedication he would bring to the role. Moore also said he thought he would be a great live-action Miles Morales, but he understands Marvel might have other plans.

Regardless of his MCU future, Moore has already built an impressive career on screen and behind the microphone. 

Shameik Moore began his career with roles in movies like Dope (2015), where his breakout performance was critically acclaimed. He later added appearances in projects like The Get Down, Wu-Tang: An American Saga, and Cut Throat City to his resume. Moore, however, became a worldwide star after working in Spider-Verse films. 

Shameik Moore might be the definitive voice of Miles Morales for a generation of fans, but the did not show up in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Fans remain excited about the prospect of Morales joining the MCU, but the studios has not yet announced if and when he will first appear in live-action. Moore is currently firmly attached to the animated Spider-Verse saga as speculation continues about his MCU future.
