Irish actor Barry Keoghan started dating American singer-songwriter Sabrina Carpenter in late 2023 and appeared in the music video for her song 'Please Please Please.' However, the pair split the following year, with some suggesting that he had been unfaithful. Nevertheless, Keoghan has now strongly refuted rumors that he cheated on Carpenter, shutting down the claims as false and a made-up story. The address came in an April 2026 appearance on the Friends Keep Secrets podcast, where Keoghan revealed that he went off the grid to avoid the increased online speculation.

“I feel in a safe space to say this, but I have been avoiding stuff. I came off Instagram and social profiles. I’ve stopped going to events. I’ve stopped just socializing," Keoghan said to the podcast hosts, Benny Blanco and Lil Dicky. He further said that the claims were then fueled by a video posted by an influencer. She later reportedly stated that the claims were false.  In the end, while the growing number of public appearances has kept the Carpenter and the Stranger Things star at the center of attention, there is still no official confirmation of a relationship.
