Stuart Fails to Save the Universe is the latest spinoff from the beloved The Big Bang Theory universe, a show that ended years ago but still holds a massive fanbase. While Stuart Fails to Save the Universe continues to bring back familiar faces in surprising forms, one key figure is still missing.

Jim Parsons has been clear that he does not plan to return as Sheldon Cooper, even as the franchise grows with new projects. In a recent interview on All Out with Jon Dean, Parsons explained that although the original series gave him some of the best experiences of his life, it also came with significant stress. He has said he would not reprise the role "for any amount of money", pointing to the emotional toll of playing Sheldon for 12 seasons.

He has also spoken about how his relationship with the character has changed over time. Being recognized as Sheldon still feels strange to him, especially since he no longer plays the role regularly. While he has stayed connected to the universe by narrating Young Sheldon and appearing in its finale, he has drawn a clear line when it comes to returning full-time.
