House of the Dragon has made waves with its very first episode, just like the showrunner Ryan Condal suggested. He went on to rave about the Battle of the Gullet sequence, and indeed it delivered on screen. However, the episode featured another scene, perhaps of about just a few seconds, that kind of took some attention away from the bloodiest naval war in the history of Westeros.
This scene featured Olivia Cooke’s Alicent Hightower and Ewan Mitchell’s Aemond Targaryen, her son in the series, sharing an inappropriate kiss. A discourse about this sequence keeps getting bigger and bigger; viewers have developed an interest in her personal life, too, like her relationship status.
To appease their curiosity, here are all the details about the House of the Dragon star Olivia Cooke’s romantic life.

Who is Olivia Cooke boyfriend 2026
As far as Olivia Cooke’s relationship status is concerned, she is currently in a relationship with a fellow House of the Dragon actor. She is dating one of the friends of Aegon II Targaryen (Alicent's elder son and one of the contenders to the Iron Throne), Ser Leon Estermont, played by Ralph Davis in season 2 of the series.
They kept their romance very low-profile and went public when the couple was seen kissing in the Wimbledon stands in 2025, making their charming affair official. Much like her partner Davis, Cooke recently acknowledged that she stopped using social media and deactivated her Instagram account six months ago. This indicates that aside from public occasions, not much is known about their romance.
Besides the second season of House of the Dragon, other credits for Davis include the sitcom Big Boys on Channel 4, the BBC series Film Club starring Aimee Lou Wood, and SAS Rogue Heroes, starring Tom Glynn-Carney, who plays Aegon II Targaryen in the HBO series.
Meanwhile, in the show, Olivia Cooke’s character Alicent is up to something big that involves betraying her own sons.
Alicent’s treacherous plan
The finale of the second season of House of the Dragon revealed Alicent striking a secret deal with Rhaenyra - her and her daughter’s lives spared in exchange for Aegon’s head and the Iron Throne. The third season follows from there, and Alicent, throughout the first episode, is shown scheming to somehow bring her plans to fruition.

But still, some doubts linger about her true intentions, whether she truly wants to help Rhaenyra seize the throne or it is all a clever ruse to lure her into a trap. This will be further fleshed out in the upcoming episodes, and for now, the focus remains on the lives lost in the Battle of Gullet and a major setback for the Dragon Queen in the Targaryen civil war.
