Although Melania Trump has urged ABC on Monday to take action against Jimmy Kimmel following the remarks he made in a parody of the White House Correspondents' Dinner that aired days before a shooting occurred at the event.

Following Kimmel's joke last week that referred to Melania as an "expectant widow," the first lady tweeted on X on Monday morning denouncing the comedian. Her post really expressed her displeasure at Kimmel’s remarks in the skit, which she considers his comments on her and her family as a means to spread hate and divide the country.

Many have been calling for ABC to take a stand and maybe take Kimmel's show off the air because of the offensive comments made about the First Lady of the country. The remarks, which were made during a fictitious White House Correspondents' Dinner, have angered some viewers and drawn criticism for being polarizing.

Apparently, Jimmy Kimmel has refused to apologize for the comments he made about First Lady, Melania Trump. In his Monday night monologue on his show, Kimmel responded to the Trumps’ criticism of his comments and also to Melania Trump’s demands to cancel his show. During his monologue, he pointed out that he made the joke three days prior to the purported murder attempt. 

“It was a very light roast joke about the fact that he’s almost 80 and she’s younger than I am. It was not – by any stretch of the definition – a call to assassination,” said Kimmel in his monologue. 

Although there are no reports confirming Jimmy Kimmel’s show being cancelled right now, there is no guarantee that it will be the same in the future. With the backlash only growing with the minute, the coming days would be decisive for the fate of Jimmy Kimmel Live! Even though he has cleared his stance and the meaning behind the joke, the discourse around the matter is not dying down any time soon.
