Jeremy Renner’s portrayal of Hawkeye remains a cornerstone of the MCU. As an original Avenger, Clint Barton brought a grounded presence to battles involving gods, aliens, and super-powered threats. The Hawkeye Disney+ series expanded his story while introducing Kate Bishop as a possible successor.  Yet Renner has remained absent from the Multiverse Saga, leaving his next MCU appearance uncertain.

Now, a fresh Instagram Story has caught fans off guard. 

Jeremy Renner recently shared an Instagram Story featuring his Hawkeye costume, immediately sending Marvel fans into speculation mode. The suit is recognizable from the Disney+ series, and its appearance on his social media arrived at a moment when Avengers: Secret Wars is moving toward production. Fans have therefore begun wondering whether the post signals another MCU appearance.

There is still no official confirmation that Renner will appear in Avengers: Doomsday or Secret Wars. The current speculation is largely based on the costume image that Renner posted on his Instagram and its timing. Some fans have also pointed to Renner’s involvement in a new Avengers-themed Disney attraction as another possible explanation for the post.

A Hawkeye Season 2 return also remains uncertain. Producer Andrew Guest previously revealed that Marvel had discussed creative ideas for another season, but timing prevented those plans from moving forward. That leaves a theatrical comeback as one possibility, although there is no confirmed casting announcement yet.

While Renner’s return remains a mystery, the next Avengers film already has an astonishing collection of heroes officially tied to its multiverse conflict.

Avengers: Doomsday boasts a star-studded lineup of returning MCU heroes. Robert Downey Jr. reprises his role as Doctor Doom, while Chris Evans and Chris Hemsworth return as Captain America and Thor. Original Avengers like Scarlett Johansson (via archival footage) and Mark Ruffalo as Hulk also feature.

Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen join as Professor X and Magneto from the X-Men franchise. Letitia Wright and Winston Duke return as Shuri and M’Kaku from Black Panther. Simu Liu (Shang-Chi) and Pedro Pascal (Fantastic Four) add fresh faces to the ensemble. Amidst all this Tom Holland’s Spider-Man remains unconfirmed for Doomsday.
