Tom Holland returns as Peter Parker in Spider-Man: Brand New Day following the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home, where Doctor Strange's spell wiped the world's memory of his identity. Since the announcement of the movie, speculation has run wild about which Marvel heroes might be showing up with Spider-Man. Now, fans are wondering if Charlie Cox’s Daredevil will appear after his cameo in No Way Home and his expanding role within the MCU through Daredevil: Born Again.  

Although the rumors gained momentum, the truth behind Daredevil's reported involvement is something else. 

Months of speculation have been put to rest, as Charlie Cox’s Daredevil does not appear in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. This news is a bummer for many fans who were hoping to see The Man Without Fear reunite with Tom Holland’s Spider-Man after their memorable meeting in Spider-Man: No Way Home. The speculation was further fueled by the increased involvement of Daredevil in the Marvel Cinematic Universe with Daredevil: Born Again. 

There were persistent rumors that Daredevil would appear, but Charlie Cox repeatedly denied filming a cameo as Matt Murdock. Reports also hinted at Rosario Dawson returning as Claire Temple from Netflix's Daredevil era for a scene tied to the movie. The sequence, however, was supposedly cut prior to the final theatrical cut of the film, and neither Daredevil nor Claire Temple will be appearing in the finished version of Spider-Man: Brand New Day. 

The speculation came from what looked like narrative links between Spider-Man: Brand New Day and Daredevil: Born Again. Matt Murdock’s story continues to develop in the Disney+ series, while promotional material for Brand New Day teased that Spider-Man would go up against the criminal organization known as The Hand. Those shared elements fueled expectations of an on-screen crossover, but Charlie Cox's involvement remains purely speculative, with no official confirmation of his appearance in the film.

While Matt Murdock does not return in Brand New Day, his role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe has steadily expanded since his first appearance alongside Peter Parker. 

Charlie Cox made his appearance as Peter Parker’s lawyer after his identity was revealed to the world, officially joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Matt Murdock in Spider-Man: No Way Home. His role was brief, but the cameo cemented the fact that the Netflix iteration of Daredevil was now part of the MCU. Cox would later reprise the character for projects such as She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, Echo, and Daredevil: Born Again, cementing him as one of Marvel’s most recognizable street-level heroes and fueling speculation about future team-ups with Spider-Man. 

Nevertheless, Spider-Man: Brand New Day does not have Daredevil. But the character is still a major player in the Marvel Cinematic Universe with Daredevil: Born Again. Fans might have to wait a little bit longer to get a full Spider-Man and Daredevil team-up, but with the pair’s long history together and Matt Murdock's growing profile in Marvel’s street-level tales, the door is still open for projects to come. For now, Spider-Man: Brand New Day remains focused on Peter Parker's fresh start rather than expanding his story with Daredevil.
