Blue Moon, starring Ethan Hawke and Margaret Qualley, is now available to rent on Amazon and Apple TV. However, those who have a Netflix subscription can easily stream the movie starting from February 14. With its brilliant storytelling and powerful performance by the cast, this is indeed quite a masterpiece.

It is understandable why Netflix did not miss the chance to pick this movie. It follows a balding and complex lyricist, Lorenz Hart, reflecting on his life in a New York City bar on the opening night of Oklahoma!. It is both heartbreaking and thought-provoking, as the character grapples with his own emotions.

Moreover, this film is certainly a must-watch for Oscar enthusiasts, as it has already earned two nominations at the Academy Awards. While Robert Kaplow is nominated for Best Original Screenplay, Ethan Hawke has received a nomination for Best Actor. But whether he wins the Oscar or not, his performance has already won over fans.

To portray Hart, Hawke underwent massive and tough transformations that speak volumes about his efforts and dedication to the role.

Ethan Hawke is brilliant as Larry Hart in Blue Moon

Ethan Hawke was impressive as Lorenz Hart in Blue Moon and almost unrecognisable. And that is because he underwent several physical changes to play the role. He even had to shave his head for a balding look,

As for his height, there were several tricks and special stage techniques used to show the much taller Hawke as a 5-foot man. The most drastic effect, as per the Blue Moon's actor's revelation during a live discussion at the Hampton's International Film Festival's A Conversation With... series as reported by PEOPLE, was the change of his eye color.

"Everybody treated me differently," said Hawke.

With all the physical changes set it place, all that was left to do for the Blue Moon to orbit the Earth was for Hawke to use his chameleon-like abilities to bring the character to life, which as per the Best Actor nomination, he evidently has, giving audiences all the more reason to go Blue Moon watching as it arrives on Netflix.
