Nothing guarantees a good time at the movies like a buddy comedy. The sub-genre of comedy has long stood as a sure-shot crowd-puller if certain aspects are done right. The most important of them are the personalities of the main characters. The buddies need to be either sharing the same level of crazy or having completely contrasting characteristics to let the situational comedy kick in effortlessly. The entire plot revolves around the crazy decisions these friends make throughout the movie, which is is bound to ultimately result in the audience laughing until they fall out of their seats.

Bad Counselors promises the same insanity, one that a watcher can access only if they know the right places to look. 

Actually, Bad Counselors has not yet been released digitally or on any streaming platform. Therefore, it is impossible to stream the movie for now. It is up for a limited theatrical release in America from July 22 to July 27, 2026. The tickets are currently available on Atom Tickets and Cinemark, and from July 22, they will also be available on Marcus Theatres and AMC Theatres from July 22.

The buddy comedy centers on two fraternity brothers who pretend to be Christian camp counselors in order to fulfill community service requirements set by the court. They are both sentenced to 120 hours of community service within two weeks or risk expulsion after a wild night puts them in handcuffs.

To get out of this predicament, they have a great idea. Despite their distaste for children, their dislike of camping, and their lack of church experience, they pretend to be counselors at a Christian youth camp. In order to keep up their ruse and avoid being discovered before the final bonfire, they must manage camp events, conceal their misbehavior, and evade prankster campers and suspicious pastors.

The plot seems to be hilarious on paper, and it only needs a talented cast to translate it to the screen in its full glory.

The cast of the 2026 movie Bad Counselors includes Matt Cornett, Ramon Reed, Brec Bassinger, McKaley Miller, Richard T. Jones, Pierson Fodé, Missi Pyle, and Chris Klein. The movie is directed by Chris Dowling, who last directed Run The Race. Dexter Masland, Ryan Gunnarson, and Taylor Grabowsky are responsible for the screenplay.
