Harrenhal is quickly gaining a reputation in the world of House of the Dragon, where seldom anything good happens. Last season, when Daemon went there, he almost lost his mind. He was fortunate enough to have walked out of the place with his mind intact and a newfound wisdom as an added bonus. But things are not looking good for the Green side’s last-standing challenger to Rhaenyra’s claim to the Iron Throne.
The end of House of the Dragon season 3 episode 2 alluded to an unambiguous fate for Aemond following a fatal injury.

One of the main narrative points in the early stages of House of the Dragon Season 3 was Aemond Targaryen and Vhagar's advance to Harrenhal. He was eventually persuaded to leave King's Landing in the season premiere, which was very important as he was the final component that needed to be taken out of the capital for Alicent and Rhaenyra Targaryen's scheme to succeed.
When he finally reached Harrenhal with Vhagar, he made quick work of the castle ruins and the soldiers and guards stationed there. Moreover, without Daemon present there to protect the place, Harrenhal fell quickly to Aemond. He k***ed everyone present there, including the lord of Riverrun, Simon Strong.
But he suffered a tragic wound in the process. The very final scene of the episode showed him collapsing at the feet of Alys Rivers, begging her for help before passing out. However, Alys stood there with a stern look on her face before the credits started rolling. This left his fate uncertain for the viewers.
The real question here is if this is the last we will see of the One-Eyed Aemond.
Is Aemond going to die?
While House of the Dragon season 3 episode 2 kept Aemond’s fate uncertain, those who have read the books know that this is not how Aemond dies. Aemond is definitely going to survive his fatal injury, and most likely, it will be Aly Rivers who will treat him for her own personal agenda.

The reason for this possibility comes from the fact that in the second episode, Daemon almost laughs her request off for Harrenhal, which quite possibly aggravates her. So, most probably, to take control of Harrenhal, she might switch sides and play for the Greens for the rest of the war. This is only a theory, but what is certain is that it is still not over for Aemond, at least, not yet.
