Thriller connoisseurs have received another letter in their mail as Deadline confirmed that The Curious Case of… is set to return for Season 2. The network is set to lock in a January 12 premiere. The update, shared via Deadline, signals Investigation Discovery’s continued investment in the franchise following its strong cross-platform performance.
From disputed identities and legal oddities to conflicting witness accounts, The Curious Case of… fits squarely within Investigation Discovery’s tradition of deep-dive, narrative-driven true-crime storytelling. The series joins ID staples such as Disappeared, Deadly Women, Evil Lives Here, and American Monster.
These are shows known for centering firsthand accounts, emotional context, and the slow unraveling of truth rather than sensationalized reenactments. By applying the same narrative-driven approach to high-profile and unconventional investigations, The Curious Case of… quietly built a loyal audience and secured its place as a noteworthy title.
With the return now confirmed, the bigger question becomes what kinds of cases could follow?
What can viewers expect from 'The Curious Case of Season 2'?
Season 2 of The Curios Case Of... will significantly widen the scope of the anthology, exploring a slate of stranger-than-fiction crimes drawn from across the U.S. The eight-part series, will be produced by Hot Snakes Media, as an official spinoff of The Curious Case of Natalia Grace.
This season’s cases include Dr. Robert O. Young, whose promotion of an alkaline diet allegedly left families devastated. The anthology will also feature the death of Olga Tsvyk, linked to a lethal “killer cheesecake”. Along with a bitter feud between Los Angeles aesthetician Dawn DaLuise and rival Gabriel Suarez involving accusations of a hired hitman. And Dr. George Kenney, accused of placing a car-crash victim into a hypnotic state.
Additional episodes examine the case of Sarah A. Delashmit, an Illinois nurse who falsely claimed to have breast cancer and genetic disorders and many more. The series is led by legal analyst and expert Beth Karas, continuing ID’s emphasis on courtroom insight and investigative context.

ID President Jason Sarlani while speaking to Deadline added that the anthology format went on to become ID’s top-rated series of 2025, paving the way for Season 2 to tackle “even more stranger-than-fiction stories, each one a high-stakes puzzle full of twists, turns and unforgettable characters.”
