According to various British tabloids, John Glen, chief secretary to the treasury, said in a statement that “The government’s priorities were that these events ran smoothly and with the appropriate level of dignity, while at all times ensuring the safety and security of the public.” CNBC also reported specific figures for various departments appointed for the occasion.
Here is the list:
- £73.68 million to the Home Office

Meanwhile, here’s what the netizens are thinking about the cost.
Queen Elizabeth II had a $200 million funeral, and Brits have a say in it
Even though the late Queen now sleeps peacefully alongside her late husband, Prince Phillip, her funeral cost seems to have agitated the citizens. While some say that such a hefty amount is just like a penny to the royal estate, others simply said it is, after all, the “billions she brought in,” and hence fair.
Kwarteng and Truss lost about £74 billion in an afternoon with their mini budget. £200 million is pennies in terms of GDP, and will be readily recouped by the royal estate in tourism and international relations.

After all the billions she brought in? Fair

Others say that the longest-serving monarch deserves that much of a tribute.
Hey if it was anyone else I’d be complaining but not her. She’s earned her respect through all those years of service. 70 years is no joke.

Meanwhile, some say it was fair because the money went to those who provided services
I think it fine coz the money didn't go in her grave but was paid to individuals who provided services.

Well, some also blame a taxpayer’s money was “wasted” on such a cause
