Insidious: Out of the Further is the sixth movie in Sony and Blumhouse's long-running horror franchise, and the film takes the series in a new direction with a new family at the center. Amelia Eve stars as Gemma, a young mother with super natural ability to enter the  spooky realm of the lost souls. Directed by Jacob Chase, the film sees the return of Lin Shaye as Elise Rainier, and expands upon the mythology set up in the earlier films.

Now, the latest chapter has left fans wondering when Gemma’s terrifying journey will arrive at home.

Insidious: Out of the Further streaming release and digital availability

Insidious: Out of the Further is now only in theaters. The newest installment from the franchise arrived on August 21, 2026. But fans who want to watch it from the comfort of their homes will have to wait a little longer. The horror film is currently not available on any subscription streaming or OTT platforms, but digital pre-orders are already up on services like Amazon Prime Video. With its theatrical run now underway, the movie should be available on digital rental and purchase platforms before moving to a subscription streaming service.

In the U.S., movie rentals on Amazon Prime Video cost $3.99 to $5.99, depending on the title and viewing quality. Viewers do not need a Prime membership to rent a movie, giving them the ability to pay for individual titles rather than subscribe to Amazon Prime. The rental price is collected at checkout, plus any applicable local sales taxes. This makes digital rental a flexible option for viewers who want to watch a specific movie but don’t want to commit to a monthly streaming subscription.

Once you start a movie on rental, you generally have 48 hours to finish watching the movie. But you have 30 days to start playback after renting the title, or the rental expires if it has not been started. Meanwhile, the price of Amazon Prime is $14.99 a month or $139 a year, while a Prime Video subscription on its own is $8.99 a month. This means that viewers can either rent individual films or subscribe to Prime Video’s wider streaming catalogue.
