Jeremy Strong had nothing but love and gratitude for director Aaron Sorkin, who recently bestowed one of the highest praises on the actor. The two are currently working together on the much-hyped upcoming film, The Social Reckoning. However, their professional relationship goes back years, with the pair first working together on Sorkin’s directorial debut, Molly’s Game, and later reuniting for The Trial of the Chicago 7.

Sorkin has often praised Strong’s dedication and hard work in every role he takes on. So, his recent praise for the actor is not surprising. But this time, Strong appreciated the recognition and responded with a strong promise.

Jeremy Strong expressed gratitude for Aaron Sorkin’s kind words

Jeremy Strong was asked by Deadline about The Social Reckoning director Aaron Sorkin’s recent praise for him. Sorkin reportedly called the actor one of the "finest" he has ever worked with. Strong expressed his gratitude and promised to continue to work hard and be worthy of the honor in the future.

"It's an incredibly kind thing to say that I'll spend the rest of my life trying to be worthy of," he said.

At the same time, he also had a few words of appreciation for the director, calling Sorkin "the dramatist of our era." He further praised the director and the vision for their upcoming film, The Social Reckoning, in his conversation with Deadline. The Social Reckoning is the third film in which Sorkin and Strong have worked together.

Now, having previously collaborated with the actor, Sorkin was already familiar with Strong’s approach to his roles. So, even before production began, the director had warned his co-stars that Strong might adopt a method acting approach to play Mark Zuckerberg in the film. And it turns out he was right.

“I told all the other actors in his scenes: ‘Guys, he’s not going to be hanging out with you at craft service," he told The New York Times in the latest edition of The Interview.

"He is going to treat you the way he imagines Mark treats the people around him.’ And that’s what happened. You cannot argue with the results," he further added.

While method acting has often drawn criticism from those who believe the approach can make an actor appear rude toward the rest of the cast, Strong’s views on his craft have not changed much.

Jeremy Strong defends method acting

Jeremy Strong recently appeared on The New Yorker Radio Hour podcast, where he discussed his approach to method acting. While explaining his process, the actor defended his approach. He further shared that he does not feel he should apologize to his co-stars for using method acting on set.

"If some people feel that I’m taking it too seriously, or it changes the molecules in the room in a way that makes something uncomfortable, I guess that’s something that I don’t feel that I need to apologize for, because I believe, and I think the directors that I work with all believe, that it’s in service of the material," he said.

Strong was often heavily criticized for his approach to method acting. His Succession co-star, Brian Cox, criticized his method acting and even called it "annoying". However, it seems that the actor has no intention of giving up his approach anytime soon.
