It was an incredible display of acting that led to an awards season run, earning her nominations across major ceremonies. She even won the Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress, drawing praise from critics and fans alike. However, the most surprising praise came from someone once close to her.

In an unexpected twist, her ex-husband, Iman Shumpert, has praised her recent success, which stumped everyone.    

 Recently, TMZ spoke with Iman Shumpert in New York City and inquired about Teyana Taylor's accolades for her performance in One Battle After Another. Shumpert, who has had multiple acting credits of his own, was quick to commend her achievements. 

"She did well. She did well, for sure," Shumpert said. He further added that their co-parenting is going well and that both their kids, Rue Rose and Iman "Junie" Tayla, are doing fantastically.

Taylor filed for divorce from Shumpert in 2023, and their eight-year marriage came to an end in 2024. There were a number of disputes between them throughout this period. Things got so out of hand that Shumpert even asked for monetary penalties and a 20-day jail sentence for the actress. Nevertheless, it appears that things have finally settled down as Shumpert clearly supports Taylor's latest career achievements.

But his remarks are not the only thing that has put him in the headlines lately. Shumpert is also in the news because of rumors surrounding his new relationship.

Despite having divorced Teyana Taylor, Iman Shumpert is currently in the news due to a rumored shift in his relationship status. A video of Shumpert interrupting a three-woman interview to kiss one of them has been making the rounds on social media. While some people think she is his girlfriend, many social media posts have implied that she is his new wife. Fans criticized this conduct, speculating that Taylor may have left him because of it.

There has been no official response on this from the former Cleveland Cavaliers star, so the reality behind the clip is still not clear. Shumpert's silence on the matter has only given rise to speculation. But his comments on Taylor’s success present an entirely different picture of the celebrity.
