Margot Robbie could return to the rebooted DC Universe. As James Gunn continues to build this new world, there has been plenty of chatter about which characters could appear in the upcoming shows and films. One such character in question is Harley Quinn.

Gunn seems to have plans for the role. However, one of the most important questions is whether Robbie will return to reprise the character. While that remains up in the air, Gunn has made an interesting offer.

During his appearance on the podcast titled The Suicide Squad: Is It Canon?, James Gunn spoke about the characters that could return to the DC Universe. While discussing Harley Quinn, he mentioned Margot Robbie and wondered whether the actress might be interested in returning to play the role of the Joker’s sidekick. Although he is not confident about her return, he assured listeners that Robbie could return to reprise the role if she wants to, which sounds like an interesting offer.

“Harley is a character I’m almost certainly going to use in the DCU, and if Margot wants to play her, then I’ll bend over backwards to explain that in the world,” he said.

However, Gunn, who praised Robbie and called her one of his favourite actors on the podcast, added that if the actress refuses to return, he will have to look for a new face to take on the role of Harley Quinn. Robbie previously played the character in Suicide Squad, Birds of Prey, and The Suicide Squad. Introducing Harley Quinn into the rebooted universe, however, may not be easy, as Gunn explained.

Joker is a crucial member of her past and has yet to be introduced. As of now, only Batman has been introduced to the universe. While nothing has been confirmed about Harley Quinn's future in the rebooted universe, Gunn has been candid about his choice of actor for the character.

Meanwhile, there is not much information available about another major character, Wonder Woman.

Wonder Woman remains one of the crucial characters to be introduced in James Gunn’s rebooted DC universe. Adria Arjona, whose character in the upcoming film Man of Tomorrow remains a mystery, is rumored to play Wonder Woman. Meanwhile, there are also rumors that Gal Gadot, who held the role in the past few films, could return to reprise her role.

Previously, in an interview with Josh Horowitz for his Happy Sad Confused podcast, Gadot said that while there was no recent update, Gunn had spoken to her about making a third solo film featuring her. But nothing is confirmed as of now. So, while there is plenty of hype and speculation, how Harley Quinn and Wonder Woman's future in the DC Universe turn out remains to be seen.
