Now, Brand New Day is ready to begin the next phase of his journey in the MCU.

While anticipation for Spider-Man: Brand New Day continues to grow, Holland has addressed how long he hopes to remain the MCU's friendly neighborhood Spider-Man. 

Tom Holland is adamant he is not ready to walk away from Spider-Man just yet. The actor recently said he is happy to keep playing Peter Parker as long as Marvel wants him and audiences are still accepting of the character. His recent comments come as there is excitement for Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which will kick off a new era for Peter Parker in the MCU post the events of the mass memory wipe-out in Spider-Man: No Way Home.

“I’ll do it as long as they keep me. So if this movie does good, I guess we’ll see,” Holland told the Hollywood Reporter, showing his willingness to continue as Spider-Man if the movie performs well.

Shortly before his interview with the Hollywood Reporter, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige said that Spider-Man’s future in MCU extends far beyond Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Feige told Shanghai media outlet Watching Hollywood that he and Sony producer Amy Pascal have been discussing a long-term roadmap that could involve as many as five solo Spider-Man films, along with the much-anticipated live-action debut of Miles Morales. He also pointed to the success of Sony’s Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse franchise and said Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse is scheduled to be released next year.

Holland's comments come as Marvel is preparing to launch a new chapter for Peter Parker, one that resets the hero's journey after the events of No Way Home. 

Spider-Man: Brand New Day takes place four years after the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home, as confirmed by Amy Pascal and Kevin Feige in an interview with Collider published on July 20. The film sees Peter starting a new chapter of his life as a lone, street-level hero. As he watches MJ and Ned move on with their lives, Peter embraces life as a full-time, street-level Spider-Man while carrying the emotional weight of his sacrifice. It is directed by Destin Daniel Cretton and is scheduled to hit theaters on July 31, 2027. 

As Spider-Man: Brand New Day looks to bring about a new era for Peter Parker, Tom Holland’s enthusiasm to take on the role and Marvel’s big plans indicate the web-slinger still has a long future in the MCU ahead. Whether that journey goes on after this next chapter, in the end, might come down to how audiences react when the movie opens. For now, all eyes are on Brand New Day as it lays the foundation for Spider-Man's future on the big screen.
