With one of the most gory, brutal, and insane storylines focused on corrupted superheroes and human vigilantes, The Boys is truly a one-of-a-kind show. And Chace Crawford, who plays The Deep in the series, knows he may never get to do anything “weirder” than what he has done on the show. Although the series has spawned several spin-offs within the same universe, this is likely the end of The Deep’s story arc.
So as the dark comedy-action series heads into its fifth and final season, Crawford looked back on his experience filming the show, including both the challenges and the fun moments along the way.

In The Boys, Chace Crawford plays The Deep, a Supe who is more of a comedic relief in the show and has managed to survive through all these seasons. However, at the same time, the character is not very different from the other Supes, as he is also involved in crimes and atrocities. Understandably, Crawford admitted that filming the series involved both fun and extremely weird experiences.
“You kind of dread when it starts, like it's never gonna happen. But it'll never be. I'll never do anything weirder or more fun than the boys,” Crawford told Entertainment Tonight.
While he seemed satisfied with his time across all the seasons, Crawford had one issue. He jokingly pointed out that superhero suits can be uncomfortable and something he would like to avoid. However, he quickly added that there was both good and bad to it.
Another aspect that he absolutely appreciates is the story arc of his character, The Deep.
Chace Crawford talks about the ending for The Deep
The future remains uncertain for The Deep in The Boys, but Chace Crawford hinted that the character will finally get the ending he deserves. He described The Deep as irredeemable and said the character will eventually face the consequences of his actions. Crawford further added that audiences will likely enjoy how the character’s story ends.
“It’s full circle from what happened in the pilot episode of the season and seeing Deep’s inability to be redeemable. He’s irredeemable, so getting his comeuppance is going to be sweet. It’s going to be very sweet,” he said.

The Boys has killed off several characters throughout its five seasons, and unsurprisingly, The Deep has managed to survive so far. The character also survived in the comics. However, as the actors and showrunner have hinted, no one is safe in this season, leaving The Deep’s future highly uncertain.
