There is a rebellious story behind Nick Offerman’s cool jacket in Margo’s Got Money Troubles. The actor has long entertained fans with his performances, particularly as Ron Swanson in Parks and Recreation. He has continued to do so through his stand-up comedy shows and hilarious skits.

In his latest series, Margo’s Got Money Troubles, Offerman turned into former professional wrestler Jinx Millet. But apart from his antics, what caught fans’ attention was his cool fashion, particularly a black motorcycle jacket. The actor recently revealed that there is an intriguing story behind the jacket.

Nick Offerman recently appeared on Talk Easy with Sam Fragoso to discuss his career and his role on the series, Margo’s Got Money Troubles. While talking about his character’s outfit, Offerman revealed that the motorcycle jacket he wears as Jinx is actually his own jacket from his college days. He also shared that the back of the jacket features a quote that reads, “Watch me burn.” He shared that there is an interesting story behind the jacket and its rebellious message.

“I was framing houses for these born-again Christian brothers. And I accidentally lit this big pile of refuse on fire and blew myself off of it and burned off my hair and eyebrows. And I was screaming, "Watch me burn, boys." is cuz I they used to admonish me jokingly for engaging in sin as a teenager, and so I was splashing gasoline on the fire,” he said.

He recalled that he was around 18 or 19 years old at the time. Offerman shared that his friends, Rob Kimmel and Martin McClendon, who were skilled at painting and airbrushing, designed and painted the artwork on the back of the jacket. Offerman later wore the same jacket as his character, Jinx, in the show. So, it might be safe to call it a fitting outfit for his character.

These subtle details made the show even more special. No wonder Margo’s Got Money Troubles brought home multiple Emmys for its wholesome, emotional, and hilarious story.

Margo’s Got Money Troubles follows Margo, a recent college dropout and aspiring writer who finds herself pregnant after an affair with her married professor. As she struggles to raise her newborn, her estranged father, Jinx, played by Nick Offerman, a former professional wrestler, returns to her life and helps care for the baby. It also focuses on Margo's relationship with her mother.

The series won three Emmy Awards this year. Apart from Outstanding Contemporary Hairstyling and Outstanding Contemporary Makeup (Non-Prosthetic), the show also won an Emmy for Outstanding Contemporary Costumes for a Series. So, it seems Nick Offerman's efforts worked out.
