Ethan Hawke revealed one shocking incident when he was venting about the director of one of his films. Now, things can get tense during filming scenes. After all, when one spends long hours working with the same people, disagreements and frustrations can happen. This is quite common in sports teams.

However, venting frustrations in an open space might not be the best idea. Ethan Hawke learned this lesson after finding himself in an embarrassing situation. The actor recently opened up about how he was caught badmouthing his director.

Ethan Hawke recently had a conversation while moderating a book talk for his friend and former co-star Kyle MacLachlan’s new memoir, Fictional Selves. The actor recalled their time working together, and the first film that comes to mind is Hamlet in 2000. Speaking of filming together, Hawke revealed that he was quite upset and frustrated one day when he began to vent about the film’s director, Michael Almereyda, only for MacLachlan to point out later that the mic was on.

"I was just spitting venom about this guy, ‘He doesn’t know what he’s f****** doing,’” Hawke recalled.

“I looked and I went, ‘What’s he (MacLachlan gesturing at the director) doing?’ I look out the window and the director has his headphones on,” Hawke recalled.

Understandably, the actor must have felt a wave of embarrassment. But as Hawke revealed in his interview, the director did not let the incident affect things on set or their relationship. Later, the two worked together again in the 2020 film Tesla. Apart from this story, the actor has always openly shared tidbits about his experiences in the film industry.

Ethan Hawke got the chance to star in a Marvel series when he appeared in Moon Knight. While the show was much loved by fans, it has yet to get the green light for more seasons. While there is no certainty that the characters will return for another show, the actor revealed that he was happy to have the chance to be part of it. 

“...Marvel has owned a chapter of cinema history, so I enjoyed being a part of it. They were really good to me,” he told The Hollywood Reporter in its interview for The Weight.

He played the role of the mysterious cult leader, Arthur Harrow, in the show. Although he played the role of an antagonist quite a few times, the actor seems to be focused on the bright side. And that will further offer some solace to fans, too.
