Robert Pattinson has taken on yet another audacious role with Primetime. The psychological crime thriller film, directed by Lance Oppenheim, released on September 5 at the Venice Film Festival and will hit the US theaters on September 25. Ahead of the film’s release, Pattinson shared what a wreck he was before the premiere of Primetime. 

Pattinson almost regretted being part of the film moments before its Venice Festival premiere. 

Robert Pattinson was visibly nervous at Saturday’s world premiere of his latest film, Primetime, at the Venice Film Festival. While the actor acknowledged that the anxiety is part of the “fun,” the nerves, in that moment, also left him questioning whether stepping into the project had been the right call after all. 

“I was genuinely throwing up, thinking, this is a huge mistake,” the actor said, as per The Wrap. 

“Part of me knows it’s high risk, high reward,” Pattinson said during a roundtable discussion at the festival, as reported by The Wrap.   

Pattinson plays To Catch a Predator host Chris Hansen in the film. Even though he was nervous ahead of the film's premiere, the successful launch did instill some confidence in him.

Critics are even anticipating an Oscar nod for the actor. 

Primetime holds a 100% Tomatometer score on Rotten Tomatoes and a 7.6/10 rating on IMDb. Critics have raved about Robert Pattinson's darkly mesmerizing performance, even comparing his performance to a mix of Jerry Maguire and Dracula. Now, awards pundits are positioning it as Robert Pattinson's strongest career shot at an Academy Award nomination.

Especially with Pattinson already having a massive year with The Drama and The Odyssey, he is already pushing the lead-actor narrative. Apart from that, A24 is also reportedly eyeing a massive Best Picture push for the film. Seems like Pattinson’s nerves were all worth it in the end.
