Sandra Bullock met up with longtime friend Jennifer Aniston, and both had a deep conversation for Interview Magazine, on June 16, 2026, published on September 8. While they discussed a great deal of stuff, one thing that stood out was Bullock’s high praise for Zendaya and her red carpet presence.

“I want to be Zendaya, but I will never be Zendaya. I’m like Zendaya’s shoe polisher. She’s glorious,” she expressed to Aniston.

Few stars in contemporary Hollywood command the red carpet quite like Zendaya, turning every high-profile premiere into an anticipated masterclass in fashion history and narrative styling. Alongside longtime image architect Law Roach, she has redefined the modern press tour, treating fashion not merely as a promotional obligation, but as a living, breathing extension of the characters she plays.

Whether she is stepping out in archival couture that nods to cinematic history or sporting futuristic, method-dressing masterpieces that completely dominate global conversation, Zendaya marries innate poise with a fearless willingness to take sartorial risks. This exact ingenuity has cemented her status as a generational icon who does not just attend fashion's biggest nights, but entirely defines them. And Sandra Bullock’s Interview Magazine comments indicate that the actress has also taken notice of this particular trait.

Coming to Practical Magic 2, the iconic actress is once again venturing into the sequel territory where she has previously been a bit short on luck.

Sandra Bullock’s complicated history with sequels

Recently, CBR host Grae Drake conducted an interview with Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman, stars of the original cult classic, Practical Magic. The interviewer brought up an odd coincidence in the filmographies of Bullock and Kidman: neither actress has starred in many sequels despite decades of acting in big-budget Hollywood productions. Bullock pointed out that at least Kidman had successful sequels under her belt, while she did not.

“Well, I mean, I was in two sequels that didn't work out,” Bullock said.

Bullock was alluding to Speed 2: Cruise Control and Miss Congeniality 2: Armed and Fabulous, two sequels that emerged as the clear outliers in a résumé that was otherwise devoid of sequels. But Kidman noted that this was the exact reason "third time's a charm," alluding to Practical Magic 2 and its status as Bullock's third follow-up. The sequel comes to theaters on September 11, 2026.
