Speaking to E! News, Matthew Rhys admitted that he looks back at his 2018 Emmy speech and thinks, “I shouldn’t have done that.” He explained that Keri Russell had once jokingly told him she would punch him in the mouth if he ever proposed, while another Emmy winner had just proposed to his now-wife onstage before Rhys’ own victory. "I mocked that moment by saying, well, if I did, Keri would punch me in the face. Which I look back on, and I go, that was rather ungracious, and I shouldn't have done that."  Rhys told E! News.
