I Know What You Did Last Summer has seen several remakes, and each time, the atmosphere remains the same tense and unsettling. The same goes for the 2025 version starring Madelyn Cline and Tyriq Withers. However, off-screen, the environment between the two actors was entirely different.

Reminiscing about the filming days, Withers had all praise for his co-star. As he appreciated the actress, Withers also shared a heartwarming story that showed their easy off-screen bond.

The filming for the 2025 movie, I Know What You Did Last Summer, took place in Australia. In a conversation with Therapuss host Jake Shane, Tyriq Withers, who was far from home for the shoot, admitted that it could have easily been a tough experience. But he shared that having Madelyn Cline around made the whole experience different.

“If it wasn’t for Maddie Cline, that shoot would have been hell to get through,” Tyriq exclaimed.

He further added, “[She's] hard working and, you know, down to clown. And I think you kind of need that. I’m not the type of actor that, needs to like, ‘Leave me alone no, I need to stay focused.’ I just, I do my job, I show up.”

He also shared a hilarious incident from the time he was hanging out with Cline at a bar. He recalled the chaotic moment as he chased down a man who tried to grab Cline’s purse, and it was even caught on CCTV. Fortunately, the situation ended without any loss.

He clarified that the man was suspiciously hovering around the purse, just trying to take a picture, but he did not steal it. So while the two had intense scenes on screen, chaotic and hilarious moments such as these were their off-screen comfort. After the slasher, Cline will take the same energy to film her new comedy movie alongside a new cast.

Cristin Milioti is also on board for the project, as per Deadline. As for Cline, she is expected to play a pop star. While Apatow and studio executives were looking for a real pop artist to play the role, Cline impressed them with an extraordinary performance.

Regardless of the genre, Cline has already shown her talent in her previous projects. Outer Banks and I Know What You Did Last Summer are shining examples. If anything, her off-screen persona is just a bonus to her talents.
