"I don't know" - Paul Feig Says ‘Another Simple Favor’ Sequel Might Have Almost Gone off the Rails

The sharp blend of mystery, glam, and cheeky chaos that once thrilled fans in A Simple Favor started to lose its sparkle, thanks in part to the off-screen buzz around Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni. In an interview with CBR's Grae Drake, Paul Feig revealed that Another Simple Favor could have been a completely different movie. Initially, the sequel was set in Rome, not Capri, with Emily (Blake Lively) freshly out of bars and seeking out Stephanie (Anna Kendrick) for a lavish wedding invite. However, after reviewing drafts and feeling uncertain about the direction, Feig's two cents about it were: "I don’t know." This led to the scrapping of the green lit version and going ahead with a "crazier" version.
Paul Feig revealed that the original Another Simple Favor draft was far more adventurous, with the story unfolding in Rome as Emily and Stephanie dodged danger—at one point, Emily was even disguised in a nun’s outfit. Feig joked, “I don't know if the audiences really care about Blake dress as a nun.” While the film’s creative twists sparked interest, fans are also wondering if it will eventually grace the Netflix platform. Despite all the effort by Feig to make a "crazier" sequel that would tickle the audience's fancy, Lively stole the show by merely nodding at her legal battle with Justin Baldoni.
Blake Lively finally broke her quiet as she marked her first TV interview since her legal battle with former co-star Justin Baldoni, shedding light on the personal challenges behind the headlines.

Lively credited courageous women for inspiring her strength and guiding her mission to make the world safer for women and girls. While Another Simple Favor's plot could have gone wilder, her legal drama with Baldoni is proving even more unpredictable.
