Ari Emanuel, executive chairman of WME Group, has confirmed that his agency parted ways with Meghan Markle in 2025. Meghan Markle had joined the agency in April 2023, arriving with a Hollywood power team and a to-do list the size of a phone book. The plan was to turn her post-royal ambitions into real deals, and the agency had the contacts. Whether the plan survived is where things get interesting.

While Meghan Markle keeps planning her next act, Emanuel has made it clear he is no longer even in the audience.

Ari Emanuel says thinking about Meghan Markle's career is no longer his job

Ari Emanuel does not miss thinking about Meghan Markle's career, and he says so without even a hint of nostalgia. Asked where her career is heading, he replied with the calm of a man whose inbox just got lighter.

"Here's the great thing. I don't have to think about that any more," Emanuel told the UK's The Sunday Times. In other words, worrying about her next move is officially someone else's job now.

The remark came as Emanuel promoted his memoir, Roll the Calls, in a profile for The Sunday Times. It also settled a rumor that had floated around since February 2025, when Page Six reported that WME had dropped Meghan Markle, a claim the agency denied at the time. That same report added that Emanuel had not met her since January 2024, leaving her day-to-day agents to run the relationship without him.

While Emanuel enjoys a quieter inbox, Meghan Markle and her husband face a documentary that crumbled faster than a cookie.

Cookie Queens flop raises questions about Hollywood star power

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle now face questions about their Hollywood pull after Cookie Queens, a documentary about four children selling Girl Scout cookies, earned about $354,262 (£261k) in its opening weekend, per Box Office Mojo. Commentator Kinsey Schofield noted that CatVideoFest 2026, a fan-made cat video collection, made more money than the film. Schofield told Fox News Digital their names once guaranteed curiosity, and she doubts it still does.

Schofield also suggested a break from the spotlight, since headline infamy does not automatically become ticket sales. Richard Fitzwilliams told Fox News that the couple's biggest hits- the Oprah Winfrey interview, the Netflix docuseries, and the memoir Spare- all grew from exposés about their estrangement from the Royal Family. Later projects such as With Love, Meghan and Polo drew less interest. Star power apparently needs more than a famous surname. Ari Emanuel, it seems, read the room long before the box office did.
