“I Am Not There, I Promise”: Charlie Cox Once Again Quashes Rumors of His Possible Cameo in ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’

Post Spider-Man: No Way Home, every actor, even slightly related to the franchise, has been persistently bombarded with the same question: “Are you appearing in the new Spider-Man film?” Whether it is Jake Gyllenhaal or Andrew Garfield, every event, every press conference becomes a battlefield where the actors for the life of them try to convince reporters that they are not in the movie, but still no one seems to believe them. The same thing has been happening with Charlie Cox now, where he has been incessantly asked the same question, time and time again.
Recently, he once again put to rest the rumors of his cameo in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which seemed definitive this time.

Charlie Cox is currently busy with the promotion of the second season of Daredevil: Born Again, a Disney initiative to bring back the Netflix-era Daredevil arc. But as Spider-Man: Brand New Day’s release is also slated for this summer, the questions about his possible cameo in the movie have followed him all over. Answering the same question for ITV News while attending the 2026 BAFTA Games Award, Cox seems to have put a full stop on the speculations for now.
“I am not there. I promise you, unless they put me in after the fact using computer-generated images,” Cox said on his involvement in the movie.
During their conversation, the second the interviewer mentions the new Spider-Man movie, Charlie Cox starts repeating “I am not in it, I am not in it.” It was just as if it were a reflex that came into effect without even thinking about it. The interviewer insinuated that since there are other heroes in it, such as his Defenders colleague, he might also be in it.
However, Cox remained firm on his stance and kept denying any association with the upcoming movie. But towards the end of their conversation, he says something that indicates that he is telling the truth this time. When the interviewer says that he is just a bit heartbroken by the fact that he will not be seeing the Red Devil in the movie, Cox replies, “Me too.”
This might be the millionth time he has had to deny being in the new Spider-Man movie, and this has happened even on big stages like Jimmy Kimmel Live!
Charlie Cox has already refuted claims of his appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!
Last month, in March, while promoting Daredevil: Born Again season 2, Charlie Cox ended up on the late-night show, Jimmy Kimmel Live! There, the actor was questioned by the host on whether Daredevil would appear in the film. He maintained that he is not in the film throughout the interview, even though the host tried his best to press Cox on the matter.
“No. Now, if I were in the movie, I would also say no, to be clear. Right. But I’m not in the movie,” said Cox to Kimmel.

To be honest, the questions about Daredevil’s cameo in Spider-Man: Brand New Day will still not cease to be thrown Cox’s way even after his stern denial of the fact. The trailer for the movie features many to the Daredevil series, though, like the Hand, Punisher, and even Wilson Fisk’s political advisor, Sheila Rivera. All these point to a possible cameo of the Man Without Fear, but these mean nothing when the actor himself has denied any possibility.
