"I’m Good. I’m Chilling” - Michael B. Jordan on Life After His Oscar Win & New Movie 'Swapped'

Michael B. Jordan has had quite the year. Fresh off a historic Oscar win for Sinners, the actor is already moving forward, and fast. He showed up to the premiere of his new animated Netflix film, Swapped, looking unbothered, confident, and completely at ease. Between a packed upcoming slate and a gold statue sitting somewhere in his closet, Jordan is clearly in a groove that very few actors ever find.
While most would bask in the glory, Jordan showed up to his premiere with something else entirely on his mind.

Michael B. Jordan is not slowing down; he is thriving. At the Swapped premiere, Jordan made it clear that life after his Best Actor Oscar win for Sinners feels exactly as good as it looks. He became only the sixth Black man in Academy history to win the award, and just the second actor in over 60 years to win it for playing twins.
"I'm good. I'm chilling. I'm having a good time right now," he told E! News.
When asked where the Oscar lives, he admitted it is currently in his closet, bouncing between spots. "A little bit, a little bit, but yeah, it's all focused on the next thing right now," he said, emphasizing that his eyes are already on what comes next.
That "next thing" arrives very soon. Swapped, Jordan's animated buddy comedy, hits Netflix on May 1, 2026, with a limited theatrical run alongside its digital debut. Originally titled Pookoo, the Skydance Animation film is directed by Nathan Greno (Tangled), written by John Whittington (The Lego Batman Movie), and produced by John Lasseter and David Ellison, a creative team with a serious pedigree behind a surprisingly playful project.
While Jordan is chilling post-Oscar, his new film is anything but calm. Here is the wild body-swap chaos at the heart of Swapped.
Swapped cast and plot explained
Set in a magical ecosystem called The Valley, Swapped follows Ollie, a small otter-like creature voiced by Michael B. Jordan, and Ivy, a majestic bird voiced by Juno Temple, two natural-born enemies who accidentally crash into a magical plant and swap bodies. Forced to navigate life in each other's skin, they must work together to stop a threat only the two of them can defeat. The supporting cast includes Tracy Morgan, Cedric the Entertainer, Justina Machado, Ambika Mod, and Lolly Adefope.

Beyond Swapped, Jordan's schedule is stacked. He stars in and directs The Thomas Crown Affair for Amazon MGM, releasing March 5, 2027. He then teams up with Austin Butler for Miami Vice '85, hitting IMAX on May 19, 2028. I Am Legend 2 with Will Smith and Rainbow Six with Chad Stahelski are also in the pipeline. Most recently, in late April 2026, it was confirmed that Jordan is producing, and potentially starring in, a Battlefield video game adaptation, with Christopher McQuarrie (Mission: Impossible) writing and directing. For a man chilling, he is building an empire.
