It is common for actors to push their boundaries on sets, even if it brings about a few cuts, burns, bruises, and broken bones. While most directors take the aid of a stunt double, there are few adrenaline junkies in the industry who enjoy taking risks by performing their own stunts. This list comprises actors like Tom Cruise, Jackie Chan, and the beloved Geralt, Henry Cavill. In The Witcher, Cavill pulled off all his stunts on his own and was even actively involved in directing a few.

However, the daredevil could not do much when it came to saving one of his co-stars from drowning. In 2015, Cavill starred in a movie alongside Armie Hammer, where the latter got into a risky spot while performing a stunt.

The Man from U.N.C.L.E. is a 2015 spy film starring Cavill and Armie Hammer that performed well at the box office. Although both the actors played rivals in the movie, they ended up forming a good bond behind the scenes. However, their friendship faced the test when the American actor was on the brink of drowning in an underwater stunt. As per Daily News, the makers tied Hammer to a cinder block and sunk into a massive pool.

Cavill’s character was supposed to save him by pulling Hammer up from a watery grave. However, the Man of Steel failed to do the task the first time around because Hammer was unable to slip out of his tether. Not being able to rescue him, Cavill let Hammer sink all the way to the bottom of the pool. Cavill even went on record to express his regret for the incident, saying, “I realize, ’I’m never gonna make it!’, so I just bail on Armie. I totally failed him”, as reported by The West.

Cavill had a difficult childhood owing to the relentless bullying he faced as a chubby kid. Even after bagging the role of Superhero, the actor had to cope with the burden of his past traumas and faced body image issues. When Cavill’s nephew became a target of bullies because of his Superman uncle, the 40-year-old had to step into his superhero role beyond the set. This was an incident from 2011 when Cavill’s little nephew, Thomas, revealed in his class that his uncle was Superman.

Not believing in the child’s claims, all his peers and even the teacher accused him of lying. While talking to Jay Leno in 2013, the Enola Holmes actor dished in the same incident where his nephew got into trouble. In no time, the news was buzzing with headlines about how Cavill went to his nephew’s school to rescue him from the reputation of a liar. However, it is also important to note that there has not been any mention from Cavill about going to his nephew’s school.
