Ryan Reynolds is famous for his close-knit circle in Hollywood. Whether it is his fake beef with Hugh Jackman or sharing a hearty laugh with John Krasinski, his camaraderie with his peers has been well-documented. Among these cherished connections is Dwayne Johnson, a friend of Reynolds for many moons. Throughout the Red Notice days, the heartwarming bromance between the two has been a source of endless delight for fans- both on and off the screen. 

It appears, however, that there have been a few clashes and awkward encounters between these two heavyweights as well, all during their Netflix movie's production.

The current chatter around the town is a rumored fight between the Red Notice leads, Ryan Reynolds and Dwayne Johnson, during the fall 2020 shoot of the Netflix movie. Allegedly, The Rock’s chronic tardiness and penchant for being fashionably late were the reasons for the altercation. The insiders informed TheWrap that Reynolds was so fed up after cooling his heels for five hours that things turned into a full-blown fight. Following that, the Jumanji star stormed off the set and the two did not exchange a single word for years.

According to TMZ's sources, however, the situation was not as dramatic as TheWrap reported. They claimed that the confrontation between the actors was less heated. Instead, the Free Guy actor simply had a conversation with his co-star. Following their discussion, Johnson was back on set the very next day, and filming continued without any further disturbances. And given the mutual admiration between the actors throughout the film's promotion, TMZ's version appears to be more in line with reality.

Whenever the topic of their friendship came up, Ryan Reynolds and Dwayne Johnson never failed to throw praise on each other's way. 

During the promotions for Red Notice, Dwayne Johnson did not shy away from talking about his friendship with Ryan Reynolds. In a candid exchange with Entertainment Tonight, he opened up about the depth of their bond, saying, “I have not known any actor in Hollywood longer than I’ve known Ryan Reynolds. We started our careers together.”

Even Reynolds has fond memories of working with The Rock, as he shared with Jimmy Fallon during a special at-home edition of The Tonight Show. The Deadpool star shared that one of the things he admired about the former WWE champion was that "He really laughs at himself". While fans have been used to some light-hearted trolling and teasing between the actors, given their evident camaraderie, the recent rumors about their on-set altercation seem all the more unexpected.
