Tom Holland could not resist teasing his girlfriend, Zendaya, after she revealed that her first date was to one of Andrew Garfield's Spider-Man movies. The Euphoria actress made her MCU debut as MJ in Spider-Man: Homecoming and has continued to reprise the role in the rest of the films that followed. However, her connection to the Spider-Man franchise began long before she landed the part.
As Zendaya recalled her first date and her early connection to the web-slinging superhero, Holland was quick to poke fun at her.

Tom Holland and Zendaya recently appeared at the Spider-Man: Brand New Day fan event in Berlin, where they spoke about the upcoming film. During the conversation, Zendaya recalled that she may have been around 16 years old when she went on her first date to watch one of Andrew Garfield's Spider-Man movies, most likely The Amazing Spider-Man, which was released in 2012. As soon as she shared the memory, Holland could not resist teasing her with a playful jab.
“How dare you?” Holland said as he laughed about it.
“I know… sorry… but it all worked out,” Zendaya responded.
Zendaya once joked that the experience was almost like getting a sneak peek into her future. She shared the story for the first time while accepting the Star of the Year Award at CinemaCon, revealing that she was around 15 or 16 when she went on her first date to see an Andrew Garfield Spider-Man movie. Several years later, she landed the role of MJ in 2016's Spider-Man: Homecoming. Now, she is set to reprise the fan-favorite character once again in the upcoming Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
Before reminiscing about her early connection to the Spider-Man franchise, the actress also teased what fans can expect from the highly anticipated film.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day already begins on an emotional note, with the world no longer remembering Peter Parker following the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home. But as per Zendaya, fans should brace themselves for even more heartbreaking moments. Speaking about the film, the actress warned audiences to mentally prepare for the emotional roller coaster ride ahead.
"I mean, for me at least, there are so many emotional scenes that you guys haven't seen yet. I keep thinking, ‘Oh man, this is going to break people's hearts in a way they're not going to see coming,’” Zendaya said in an interview with IGN Benelux.

Her co-star, Tom Holland, also revealed how challenging it was for him to step back into Peter Parker's shoes for the film. Despite all the emotional moments and challenges, Spider-Man: Brand New Day is an exciting new chapter for Peter Parker. And fans will finally get to see what comes next for the webslinging hero.
