The blood battle in House of the Dragon had claimed several lives and also raised major questions about one of its most important characters, Lord Corlys. As expected from the first episode of Season 3, the Battle of the Gullet saw intense action, but one of its most jaw-dropping moments was when Lord Corlys fell from his ship into the sea, hinting at his death. But House of the Dragon fans know better than to assume a character is dead until a body is recovered.

His shocking fall sparked a desperate search by his children to find him. And the same tension was felt among fans wondering about the future of House Velaryon. As episode 2 finally shed light on Lord Corlys' whereabouts, here is what it means for the Velaryon household.

To find Lord Corlys, Alyn, Baela, and Addam launched a desperate search that eventually led them to a beach, where they found him alive. Lord Corlys's reunion with his kids was one of the episode's most emotional moments, especially for Alyn. Both Alyn and Addam are Lord Corlys' illegitimate sons.

During this emotional reunion, Lord Corlys finally gave Alyn the acknowledgment he had long yearned for, accepting him as his son. Even in the midst of w** and cruelty, moments like these remind the power of love and family. For those wondering about the books, Lord Corlys, better known as the Sea Snake, also survives in the source material.

And as the Season 3 trailer has already hinted, he is set to appear in several more scenes. So, his journey in House of the Dragon is far from over. But what many may not know is that the Sea Snake had many remarkable adventures beyond the events of the main series, too.

Is there any spin-off show on Lord Corlys

Lord Corlys' fascinating life before the events of House of the Dragon has long intrigued fans. So, it was no surprise when HBO began developing a spin-off titled 9 Voyages. However, the project was later reworked from a live-action series into an animated show titled The Sea Snake. And perhaps this massive change is causing the delay.

As per Collider, Genndy Tartakovsky is now at the helm of the series. It is expected to chronicle Lord Corlys' legendary nine voyages aboard his flagship, the Sea Snake. While the project has not been canceled, there have been few updates on its development. Until then, fans can continue following Lord Corlys' story in House of the Dragon.
