House of the Dragon season 3 is getting a dual release on HBO Max, and the second format involves American Sign Language in a way the series has never attempted before. The Targaryen civil conflict returns this summer across eight episodes, airing every Sunday at 9 p.m. ET and wrapping on August 9. The show also reclaims its traditional primetime slot after A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms briefly broke that habit.
While dragons prepare to scorch Westeros, HBO is quietly making sure no viewer gets left behind in the flames.

House of the Dragon season 3 will stream with a simultaneous American Sign Language version beginning June 21, making it the first season of the show to receive this treatment at launch. The American Sign Language version arrives in the US and EMEA regions alongside the HBO broadcast each week. Landen Gonzales and Sophia Morales share dubbing duties across the season, with Justin Jackerson returning as Director of American Sign Language for all three seasons. Morales previously dubbed Beetlejuice Beetlejuice and A Minecraft Movie for HBO Max.
HBO Max is also rolling out American Sign Language versions of the earlier seasons ahead of the premiere. Season 1, dubbed by Gonzales, arrives on May 29, while Morales' season 2 version follows on June 15. This initiative builds on HBO Max's broader accessibility push, which has already covered titles including The Last of Us, The Pitt, Barbie, Sinners, and Wuthering Heights. The platform is clearly treating accessibility as a feature, not an afterthought.
As HBO expands access to Westeros, the man building it is also locking in his own long-term claim to the realm.
Ryan Condal secures a major deal extension with HBO beyond season 4
Showrunner Ryan Condal has signed an exclusive overall deal extension with HBO running through 2029, per Deadline. Condal co-created House of the Dragon with George R.R. Martin in 2020 and took sole command of the series from season 2 onward. He is already shaping scripts for season 4, the confirmed final season, expected in 2028, while completing post-production on season 3.

The extension positions Condal as a key figure in whatever HBO develops within the Game of Thrones universe after the Dance of the Dragons concludes. Season 4 will close out the Targaryen civil conflict, with A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms season 2 filling the 2027 gap. HBO is clearly keeping its most prized creative minds inside the castle walls, and Condal is holding the keys to a kingdom that now welcomes every viewer, American Sign Language access included.
