‘HOTD’ Ropes in Creative Minds from ‘The Witcher’ and ‘Vikings’ for The Much-Awaited Season 2

The much-awaited House of the Dragons (HOTD) will make a comeback on screens in 2024. Following the success of the first season, HBO announced the renewal of the adaption of George R. R. Martin’s Fire and Blood, and this time, with more dragons. Days after the first season aired, HBO’s Francesca Orsi said, “We couldn’t be more excited to continue bringing to life the epic saga of House Targaryen with season two”. And now, two individuals joining the show have added to the excitement of the upcoming season. 

With the production starting off in full swing, the second season of this prequel of Game of Thrones has visionary minds coming on board from the fan favorites The Witcher and VikingsThe creative collaboration promises to elevate the show’s anticipation. Drawing inspiration from the minds of two immensely popular franchises, the wait just gets more exciting as time passes.

That’s precisely what HOTD Season 2 has done by bringing on board the exceptional Loni Peristere, known for The Witcher, and PJ Dillon, known for Vikings as shared by Redanian Intelligence on Twitter. Peristere will be one of five directors on the team, whereas Dillon will use his expertise as one of the five directors of photography. With this duo, the creation of stunning visuals, captivating stories, and well-developed characters is guaranteed. 

Peristere has solidified his position as a veteran of fantasy and historical dramas through his work on The Witcher. House of the Dragons crew updates and timeline

The production of the HOTD is progressing at an impressive pace, evident from the regular leaks of set information. Unlike many other shows affected by the WGA strike, HOTD has been fortunate to continue its production smoothly. Recently, the series wrapped up its shooting in Wales. After this, they will continue at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden in London until September and October of this year.

The camera spotted cast members waving to the camera in their on-location filming going on in Wales. With the current shooting ‌timeline, fans predict we could hope to see the season released exactly on time.
