When ID's Hollywood Demons debuted its first season on the channel in March 2025, it attracted attention with its true crime cases involving some of the well-known names in the industry. The docuseries delved deeper into some of the darkest stories emerging from the world of Hollywood. Now, a second season is about to be released, and the trailer has just been dropped. 

The trailer of Hollywood Demons season 2 gives a glimpse of several cases to be discussed in the new season, but Matthew Perry’s case sticks out among them.

Season 2 of Hollywood Demons will explore five new tales that touch on the dark side of celebrities and the Hollywood effect. The death of Matthew Perry, which has remained a mystery to the majority of people, is one of these five cases this season, as shown in the trailer of the show.

The upcoming season of the investigative documentary will stream on HBO Max and debut on ID on April 20 at 9 p.m ET/PT. Controversial tales from Hollywood involving some big names are expected to be featured in the five-episode season. The Friends star and his mystery will probably take one of these episodes. 

Investigative Discovery and Ample Entertainment, which previously produced Quiet on Set, are the creators behind the docuseries. The Von Erichs wrestling dynasty, accusations against 7th Heaven star Stephen Collins, and Power Rangers scandals were some of the topics covered in the first season, which aired in 2025. The Fall of Diddy, Homicide Hunter, See No Evil, and many other films are examples of the projects backed by the real crime network ID.

The curiosity now shifts to the why behind the decision to examine Matthew Perry’s death and what makes it a big mystery.

When Matthew Perry passed away in December 2023, the official autopsy report stated that the actor died of a ketamine overdose. Other contributory variables included coronary artery disease, drowning, and the side effects of buprenorphine, a d*** used to treat opioid use disorder. All these factors pointed to Perry's death as an accident.

The autopsy also reported that there were no indications of lethal injuries or suspicions of foul play, and no d**** or d*** paraphernalia were discovered around the pool or next to the water. This begs the question as to where the ketamine in his system came from then. This question has been raised by many reports and docuseries dedicated to the actor’s mysterious death. It will be interesting to see if Hollywood Demons season 2 attempts to find the missing piece of this puzzle.
