Hollywood Cool Meets High Speed as Damson Idris Becomes the New Face of F1

F1 never misses a rising star, so it was inevitable that Damson Idris would make the grid. Damson Idris stunned audiences back in June 2025 with his portrayal of Joshua Pearce. In the role, he trained in modified Formula 2 cars, reaching speeds of 180 mph. He fearlessly tackled corners like Copse flat-out, dominating the screen with a charisma that rivaled the likes of Brad Pitt.

It seems that such excellence did not just amaze the audience but also the sports league, as he is now set to become the face of that very sports league.

F1 officially named Damson Idris as its new Global Brand Ambassador, elevating him from his role as an actor in F1, the film, to a face of the sport worldwide. In this role, Idris will act as a bridge between high-octane motorsport and the broader entertainment world. He will represent F1 at select Grand Prix and support the league through curated digital content and strategic brand collaborations.

One of the core reasons that Idris was selected as the ambassador of the sports league seems to be his pull. He is expected to bring in younger and more diverse audiences now that F1 has disassociated from its ‘older male’ image, with 43% of fans now under the age of 35 and 42% identifying as female.

The announcement, in fact, coincided with the launch of F1’s ‘All To Drive For’ campaign for the 2026 season. With Damson Idris stepping in as global ambassador and F1 Grand Prix reaching cinemas, the sport is giving fans a premium season off the track.

With F1 officially on the list, Damson Idris continues to build a collection of ambassadorships.

Damson Idris’s growing ambassadorship portfolio

Damson Idris has a way of turning brand ambassadorship into a narrative performance. His work with Tommy Hilfiger, which channeled his role in F1 into the APXGP Capsule Collection, proved that luxury fashion and film can accelerate in perfect sync.

At Prada, Idris has fronted boundary-pushing campaigns, from Spring/Summer 2026’s collage-style ‘Image of an Image’ to Fall/Winter 2024, scripted by Miranda July. Not only does he represent the brand, but he also transforms his own ideas into visual storytelling.

If that was not enough, his reach has also extended to lifestyle, thanks to his collaborations with Hennessy, DIDRIS Fine Jewellery, and Bono’s (RED) signal, a reach that extends beyond mere glamour. This combination of style and storytelling cements Damson Idris as a multifaceted ambassador whose influence resonates well beyond red carpets and campaigns.
