Warner Bros. has officially announced a sequel to Hogwarts Legacy at a shareholders’ meeting. The follow-up continues the 2023 open-world RPG that brought the Wizarding World to life, with an original story set in the 1800s, long before the time of Harry Potter. Hogwarts Legacy, developed by Avalanche Software, was a major commercial success, plunging players into Hogwarts as students who can explore the castle, attend classes, learn spells, and uncover the secrets of the magical world.
Now, the wait is over for Hogwarts fans, as Warner Bros. is officially bringing players back to the Wizarding World with a new Hogwarts Legacy adventure.

After years of speculation about a possible follow-up, Warner Bros. has officially confirmed that a second Hogwarts Legacy game is in the works. The announcement confirms that players will get a chance to return to the Wizarding World in a new open-world adventure.

The letter further noted that Warner Bros. is currently keeping details about the sequel under wraps. There is no release date, title, trailer, platforms, or gameplay information announced, so fans have plenty of questions about what the new adventure could bring. It is also still unclear if Avalanche Software, the studio behind the original game, will return to lead development of the highly anticipated follow-up.
Hogwarts Legacy puts players in the role of a fifth-year student who has the ability to wield rare, ancient magic, placing them in the middle of a brewing threat to the wizarding world. It also boasts customizable characters, house selection, magical creatures, potion-making, talent upgrades, and a robust combat system related to Harry Potter, which is now all set for its series with new cast members.
Meanwhile, Warner Bros. has been doubling down on other major gaming projects, with LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight adding another high-profile title to its growing lineup.
Warner Bros. has expanded its gaming lineup with LEGO Batman
LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight is an open-world action-adventure developed by TT Games that takes players on a journey through Bruce Wayne’s early years to becoming Gotham’s iconic Dark Knight. The game blends an original story with elements from the wider history of Batman in movies, comics, and games. It also offers a fun new take on the superhero universe, allowing players to explore a detailed LEGO Gotham, battle well-known villains, customize the Batcave, and work together with Batman’s allies in local two-player co-op.

On the other hand, fans will get another opportunity to return to the Wizarding World in the sequel to Hogwarts Legacy, but Warner Bros. is keeping most of the details secret for now. The original game was a big hit, and there is more focus on major gaming releases these days, so expectations are already high for the next installment. Players may have to wait for more information, but the sequel could build on the open-world experience with a new story, characters, and magical adventures, while building on what made the first game so popular.
