If a cinephile were to be asked in the 00s if a movie star could still hold his stature after front lining one of the biggest controversies in Hollywood which had slapping on-stage and cursing as its elements, their answer would be a straight 'no' with the exception of Mr. July. And as 2024 rolls out, the case seems to be true for Will Smith. However, despite his constant efforts to promote his action extravaganza with Martin Lawrence, his name is surprisingly being paired with Alfred Hitchcock.

While there is no doubt that his directorial prowess and Smith's chameleon-like abilities would be a match lethal for the box office, the legend had already passed away by the time Smith became the fresh prince of Bel-Air. Despite destiny, Will Smith still seems to have found his name next to Hitchcock's for this reason.

In the list of eccentric activities that Will Smith has done recently falls his iconic Coachella performance, and promoting Bad Boys: Ride or Die. None of these activities hint at Will Smith working on any projects associated with Alfred Hitchcock. A bit of digging down reveals that the culprit behind this bizarre connection is the undying love Smith's fans have for his old performances. While he is neither starring in a movie named Hitchcock nor is he remaking a project of his, it is an amalgamation of Hitch and Hancock.

In 2005, the Oscar-winning actor starred alongside Eva Mendes in what is to date regarded as one of the most entertaining romantic comedies of all time, Hitch. Years and genres apart, Smith then starred in Peter Berg's directorial Hancock. In pursuit of their binge happiness, fans seem to have mixed the two movies up to make way for Hitchcock starring Will Smith.

More than a decade ago, when Will Smith was busy perfecting The Karate Kid in 2010, there were rumors as reported by Latino Review that the actor was going to star in a remake of Suspicion. Starring Joane Fontaine and Cary Grant, the movie, owing to its legendary director, had a phenomenally thick plot. However, the project never escalated due to undeclared reasons. And as fans look back, the reason seems clear.

Had Will Smith starred in the remake, he would have filled in Cary Grant's shoes as Johnny, a gambler supposedly out for blood. And despite his unpredictable nature, if there is one thing fans are sure of about Will Smith, it is that he rather will star in four or even more Bad Boys than ever become one.
