Mouthwashing, a video game developed by Wrong Organ and published by Critical Reflex, was released for PC in 2024 and has become a hit among fans. Kusama is best known for her work on Jennifer’s Body, which has since become a cult classic, as well as the popular television series Yellowjackets. The screenplay will be written by Matt Manfredi and Phil Hay. Scott Derrickson, best known for directing The Black Phone, will join C. Robert Cargill and Vince Cheng to produce the film under their production company, Crooked Highway.
For those unfamiliar with the psychological horror video game, Mouthwashing follows a five-member crew on the freight spaceship Tulpar, who are left stranded after the vessel collides with an asteroid. With dwindling resources and no clear way out, the crew is left to struggle to survive as they face difficult circumstances and terrifying hallucinations. However, details about the film's plot have not yet been revealed.
Now, this is not the only video game making it to the screen.
