Pete Davidson and Kanye West, now known as Ye, made headlines during their very public feud back in 2022. At the time, the 32-year-old actor and comedian was dating West’s ex-wife, Kim Kardashian. The two dated for nearly 9 months before calling it quits.

Now, nearly 4 years later, Davidson has finally opened up about that time and his feud with Ye. And despite their tumultuous history, the comedian has only empathy for the rapper and record producer.

In an interview with Variety, Pete Davidson spoke about Kanye West following the rapper’s controversial remarks on social media. Davidson, who is half-Jewish himself, took an empathetic stance toward Ye. Looking back at the time, Davidson said he believes the rapper had been struggling with his mental health at the time.

“He’s also lost a parent and has mental stuff, and I don’t know how he deals with it or who he has around him,” he said.

“When people are so far up your a** and constantly pushing and provoking you and not showing you love, you want to burn it all. I think it got to a certain point where he was like, ‘Leave me the f*** alone. I’m just going to say crazy s***.’ There’s zero way he really feels like that,” he further added.

Davidson further shared in the interview that while he has empathy for Kanye West, he opened up about how the rapper’s behaviour towards him at the time was upsetting. During the time Davidson dated Kim Kardashian, Ye frequently posted hurtful comments about the comedian online. Ye also criticised Davidson in his 2022 song “Eazy." Davidson admitted that such comments had affected him at the time. However, Davidson seems to have a different perspective on the situation now.

Pete Davidson called out the criticism against Ariana Grande

Pete Davidson, in the same interview with Variety, addressed the conversation about Ariana Grande’s appearance. The singer has recently faced intense public scrutiny over her appearance and weight loss. Addressing the chatter, Davidson criticised those comments.

"I don't like it at all," Davidson said. "It's not cool.
