HENRY CAVILL BACKED MATTHEW VAUGHN’S CHOICE OF THE STRANGE HAIRSTYLE

Matthew Vaughn and Henry Cavill sat for an interview with Josh Horowitz on his
Happy Sad Confused podcast last month. When Horowitz asked about Cavill’s
unusual hairstyle in Argylle, the filmmaker immediately admitted to taking the
liberty of his “poetic license” to have a little fun with a good-looking face
like Henry Cavill’s. The Witcher [https://netflixjunkie.com/tag/the-witcher/]
actor then chimed in, defending the filmmaker for allowing him “to be
characters,” something which Cavill believed most people do not.



He also shared that Vaughn was the first person who made Cavill try a mustache.
This was in the 2007 fantasy adventure film, Stardust, where the 40-year-old
played the character of Humphrey. The podcast also discussed this first
collaboration between Cavill and Vaughn. When Horowitz asked what made Vaughn
believe that Cavill was perfect for his movie back in 2007, the filmmaker
replied with “charm“. However, Stardust was not the only movie where Cavill
flaunted his mustache.

removal during post-production on Justice League. This was because he could not
shave it off while still filming Mission, despite also needing to don the red
and blue spandex again for the Joss Whedon-led Justice League reshoots. After
many fans queried why Cavill could not simply wear a faux mustache in the
Mission: Impossible film, Christopher McQuarrie, the director, shared the true
reason on X, formerly Twitter.

The filmmaker revealed that the stunts Cavill performed in the film would cause
a fake mustache to either fall off or shift. As a result, he could not shave it
off. However, this choice prompted a donation from Paramount Pictures
