“Henry Cavill Jnr”- Fans React Over David Corenswet’s First Glimpse, With a Familiar Taste, as James Gunn’s New Superman

The hype surrounding first Henry Cavill reprising his Superman role in James Gunn's DC, second, his exit, third, David Corenswet taking on the role, and lastly, the unmistakable resemblance he holds to Henry Cavill is truly unprecedented. It is undoubtedly the biggest thing that has happened surrounding the DC universe in years. However, just when fans thought things could not be any louder, fans unleashed their unprecedented reaction to James Gunn's first look of Superman.

Despite the several attributes that stood out in the poster, the fact that David Corenswet looked like Cavill and the setting itself resembled Zack Snyder's cinematography stood over everything. Ultimately, supporter or not, James Gunn's new Superman revelation was shadowed by Henry Cavill fans, backing up Freya Allan's controversial statement.

  The question once again circled back to whether it was actually important for Cavill to hang his cloak, given the resemblance that the new Superman holds. However, what some do not realize is that the director might have aimed to have the effect to begin with. Even previous images of Corenswet's transformed physique saw no difference to Cavill's look further, making fans question the need for a switch.

   With the first look now out, reactions by fans were buzzing with chants of "Henry Cavill Jr."

While everyone from the actor to the director seems to have moved on given the several upcoming and already released projects, fans have not moved an inch. Moreover, whatever hopes fans had regarding the new movie being a unique piece seems to have vanished with the first glimpse of his Superman.

One fan was so confident in his belief that he wrote, "Oh come on, we're all thinking it!" as he called David Corenswet "Henry Cavill Jr."

Another spectator quipped in, saying that it seemed as if someone had drawn Cavill from memory. Others also exclaimed how "it doesn't look great."

While these seem like backhanded compliments, some fans did not hold back as they held polls regarding who the better Superman is and also remarked that Corenswet had "0 aura." Whatever the case, it will be a long time before they see the magic unfold on screen.
