He-Man vs Superman is kind of a touchy topic for most fans of the superheroes, not because it is a neck-to-neck battle or it is an inconclusive topic, but because an official crossover has already given the answer, and most fans of the losing side do not agree with that. To be fair, both characters carry the title of being the strongest in their verse. But what weight does their titles carry when they meet on a level playing field - one that is suitable to both parties?
Will He-Man beat Superman with his Sword of Power, or will Superman pummel He-Man with his bare fists? Let us find out.

To be very clear, in one of the official crossovers between the two universes, Injustice vs. Masters of the Universe (2018), He-Man has defeated a Brainiac-amped Superman, claiming victory in the fabled match-up. But fans of the Man of Steel argue that it was bound to happen since comics extensively provide evidence of the Kryptonian’s vulnerability to magic.
According to comics, Superman’s only two weaknesses are Kryptonite and magic, and the mighty warrior from Eternia heavily relies on the latter for his power source. While the DC superhero does not have a unique, innate weakness to magic, magical attacks do bypass his biological invulnerability. Therefore, this battle becomes a losing cause for Son of Krypton from the get-go. But is this really the case?
In favor of the Man of Tomorrow, it can be said that he far surpasses He-Man in terms of the arsenal he has. For instance, the ability of flight, super speed, heat and X-ray vision, and super hearing can all be weaponized and used strategically against the Champion of Eternia to defeat him. If Superman maintains his distance from He-Man, he might have a chance to take down his rival from the other universe.
Another solid argument in favor of Superman emerges from the most unexpected corner.
Superman gets an unlikely ally in the debate
In a WIRED interview, while promoting his upcoming movie Masters of the Universe, director Travis Knight betrayed his own side and supported the Man of Steel in the Superman vs. He-Man debate. During the interview, Knight and Nicholas Galitzine, who plays the new Prince Adam, argued about He-Man's strength in comparison to Superman. While Galitzine stated the obvious crossover victory of He-Man, Knight refused to believe that result and maintained that Superman would crush He-Man.

Such a strong opinion against one’s own franchise is not what one would expect, especially on a promotional run. But that is how Superman fans defend their beloved superhero and adamantly claim that the Kryptonian is equipped with the required skillset to take He-Man down in a one-on-one battle despite his apparent weakness to magic. Even though the answer to the Superman vs. He-Man question has been provided in the official crossovers, the discourse still remains inconclusive.
