Last year, Loki and Peggy Carter discovered that saving the universe was apparently less complicated than falling in love. Tom Hiddleston and Hayley Atwell took over London’s Theatre Royal Drury Lane as Benedick and Beatrice in Jamie Lloyd’s sold-out Much Ado About Nothing, where Shakespearean insults met pink confetti, house music, physical comedy, and enough 1990s clubland energy to make even the God of Mischief look comparatively less mischievous.

With Avengers: Doomsday now threatening to assemble Marvel’s biggest hero reunion yet, Atwell looks back at the theatrical chaos that made her 2025 stage run with Hiddleston unforgettable.

Hayley Atwell was speaking to Entertainment Tonight at Comic-Con when the conversation took a delightful detour from super-suits to Shakespearean stagecraft. Asked whether returning to the theater brought back the thrill of standing behind those doors before a crowd erupted, the Peggy Carter star recalled her 2025 West End run with Tom Hiddleston. Apparently, Loki and Agent Carter had brought quite the Marvel army to the Bard.

"One of the most electrifying experiences of doing that with him was the number of Marvel fans that had come to see Shakespeare," Atwell explained that some audience members had never been interested in Shakespeare or even visited the theater before, but the Marvel connection brought them through the doors. Feeling that love from the crowd made the experience even more special for the actress.

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, Atwell made it clear that the Marvel fans did not merely fill seats for Much Ado About Nothing. They arrived for Loki and Peggy Carter, stayed for Benedick and Beatrice, and helped turn the sold-out West End production into something genuinely unforgettable. Even Shakespeare might have applauded that particular bit of multiverse-level audience crossover.

While fans wonder whether Peggy Carter and Loki will return for Avengers: Doomsday alongside the X-Force, those hoping to catch Atwell and Hiddleston in action may still have time.

Will Hayley Atwell and Tom Hiddleston be reuniting on the stage again?

Hayley Atwell and Tom Hiddleston are about to step onto the same stage once again, proving that Peggy Carter and Loki apparently cannot stay away from each other for too long. The pair will reprise Beatrice and Benedick in Jamie Lloyd’s Much Ado About Nothing, transferring the acclaimed production from London’s West End to Broadway for a strictly limited 10-week engagement.

The reunion will begin at New York City's Winter Garden Theatre with previews starting October 31, 2026, before opening on November 19. The full original company will make the journey across the Atlantic, bringing the same high-energy, disco-infused chaos that made the West End run such a hit. This time, the biggest Marvel crossover is happening without a single Infinity Stone in sight.
