He further explained his belief by using Martin Scorsese’s films as an example.

Hader further added, “I haven’t seen anything yet where I went, ‘Whoa, that’s better than Martin Scorsese.'”

He added during the Summit that he does not want production designers to lose their jobs because they are the real artists behind the work. Interestingly, while he expressed some hope for what AI could potentially achieve, he did not seem entirely convinced by its capabilities, pointing out the technology’s limitations.

While Bill Hader seemed to question whether AI has the potential to make the filmmaking process easier, the actor also pointed out the fear surrounding the technology. He explained that he has spoken to many young people about AI, and many of them seemed to be against the technology. Hader added that this generation is well aware of AI’s potential and fears that it could be used to manipulate things.

"But [young people] are very aware of the people making [AI]. They just know so much. They’re afraid that anything can be manipulated," he said at the Variety Entertainment & Technology Summit

Now, Hollywood has also reacted to the technology in different ways. While some are strongly opposed to the use of AI, others are exploring its potential. Meanwhile, Hader seemed to wonder if the technology could offer some help for creatives. However, one point that many seem to agree on is the need for strict laws and regulations around AI to protect people, including artists.
