'Harry Potter' Series Will Give Us a Never-Seen-Before Take at Draco Malfoy’s Life, Actor Reveals
The platinum-blond Slytherin, Draco Malfoy, known for his arrogance and talent for stirring up trouble, is one of the most memorable as well as disliked rival characters in the Harry Potter books. The character was brought to life in films by Tom Felton. And now the torch is passed to fourteen-year-old Lox Pratt, who will play infamous bully in the upcoming Harry Potter television series.
The show promises to peel back new layers of Draco's story and his life away from his friends, rivals, and Hogwarts. And as Pratt hints, a never-before-seen version of Draco Malfoy could be seen in the series.

In an interview with 1883 Magazine, Lox Pratt, who is set to play Draco Malfoy in the Harry Potter TV series, shared a few intriguing details about his character’s portrayal in the series. He hinted that the show will explore the characters more deeply than the books and movies, starting from the very first season. This will include a closer look at Draco Malfoy’s home life, as well as an exploration of other characters, too.
“You get to see all the teachers in their little rooms. You get to see Draco at home. I won’t spoil too much about that, but there are some brilliant scenes at home where you start to get an insight into how he is,” he said.
Pratt’s comments also suggest that other characters connected to Draco will play a bigger role. Draco Malfoy’s father, Lucius Malfoy, played by Johnny Flynn, will appear earlier in the TV series than he did in the books or films and may get more screen time. In the same interview with 1883 Magazine, Pratt has also spoken about his on-screen dynamic with Flynn as a father–son duo, calling him a lovely guy and how their duo just looks good on the screen.
As an insight into Draco's life is out, other actors too have opened up about their roles in the highly anticipated TV series.
Recently, Nick Frost, who will play Hagrid in the Harry Potter TV series, revealed interesting details about how they landed the part.
Nick Frost talks about landing Hagrid in the Harry Potter TV series
Nick Frost, who will play Hagrid in the Harry Potter series, clarified that while his portrayal of the gentle giant will not be an exact copy of the late Robbie Coltrane’s version from the films, he is committed to doing justice to the character. That dedication may have started with Frost doing a spell of his own. In an interview with The Guardian, Frost shared that he manifested the role by writing Hagrid’s name repeatedly on a piece of paper.
“Before I was cast as Hagrid, my partner suggested trying to manifest it. So last Christmas, I watched all the films back to back on the Sky ‘Harry Potter’ channel, while writing out the word ‘Hagrid’ 7,000 times,” he said.

While that might sound hilarious to some, it gives a look into Frost’s dedication to the role. Needless to say, he has also watched the movies numerous times. As for how he, as well as Lox Pratt, are set to bring the beloved characters to life once again, that remains to be seen.
